LazyEight

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

LazyEight is made by Lazy Eight LLC, a Colorado company (“we”, “us”). This policy says what happens to your data when you use LazyEight and this website. It describes what the software does today. When that changes, this page changes at the same time.

The short version

LazyEight runs on your Mac. We do not run servers that receive your data, you do not have an account with us, and the software sends us nothing: no analytics, no crash reports, no usage data.

What stays on your Mac

  • Your agents, their settings, their conversations and their routines.
  • Files, notes and synced documents in your library.
  • Passwords you give an agent. Each agent keeps them in its own macOS keychain, and the AI model never sees them.
  • The keys for services you connect.

When data leaves your Mac

Only for things you set up, and only to the service involved:

  • Websites your agents visit. An agent's browser talks to websites the way your own browser does.
  • Cloud AI models you add. If you add a model that runs outside your Mac, with your own key, the messages of chats that use it go to that provider under its policy. Data from connected accounts and files marked local-only go to models on your Mac only. Other private data goes only to models on your Mac or to private models you set up.
  • Accounts you connect. Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar and Notion are read with your own credentials and read-only access, and synced to your Mac.
  • Texting your agents. If you turn on messaging through Telegram, those messages pass through Telegram's servers under its policy.
  • The iPhone app, once it is released. Your phone and your Mac exchange messages through your own private iCloud storage. The contents are end-to-end encrypted with keys that exist only on your devices, so neither Apple nor we can read them. Face ID approvals are signed by a key that never leaves your phone.

What we never do

  • Sell or share your data.
  • Show ads, or track you across apps and websites.
  • Use your data to train AI models.
